Breathe Therapeutic Services
Psychotherapy, also called talk therapy or usually just "therapy," is a form of treatment aimed at relieving emotional distress and mental health problems. At Breathe we help examine and gain insight into life choices and difficulties faced by individuals, couples, and families. We offer virtual and in-person therapy sessions with a clinically licensed provider with the goal of improving aspects of your life.
If you’re experiencing prolonged periods of anger, sadness, or anxiety; are struggling with relationship conflicts or communication problems; are coping with a specific painful event, like the death of a loved one, a breakup, or the loss of a job; or are grappling with questions of identity or self-esteem, it may be time to try either short- or long-term therapy. Below are just some of the therapeutic services we offer.
Expressive Art Therapy

Expressive art therapy combines psychology and the creative process to promote emotional growth and healing. No artistic talent is necessary for art therapy to succeed.
This multi-arts, or intermodal, approach to psychotherapy and counseling uses our inborn desire to create; such a therapeutic tool can help initiate change.
Here are some of the many forms of expressive art:
-
Playing/Listening to music
-
Role play
-
Reading/Writing poetry/Journaling
-
Drawing/Painting
-
Sculpting (Clay/Playdough)
-
Movement (Dancing/Stretching/Breathing)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a short-term form of psychotherapy based on the idea that the way someone thinks and feels affects the way he or she behaves. CBT aims to help clients resolve present-day challenges like depression or anxiety, relationship problems, anger issues, stress, or other common concerns that negatively affect mental health and quality of life. The goal of treatment is to help clients identify, challenge, and change maladaptive thought patterns in order to change their responses to difficult situations.

Person-Centered Therapy

During person-centered therapy, your therapist acts as a compassionate facilitator, listening without judgment and acknowledging the client’s experience without shifting the conversation in another direction. Your therapist is there to encourage and support you without interrupting or interfering with your process of self-discovery, as you uncover what hurts and what is needed to repair it.
Christian Based Counseling

Christian counseling is a broad category of emotional and relationship support that draws on the principles of Christianity to help you cope with challenges. Because religious faith can play a significant role in an individual’s life, many prospective therapy clients who identify as Christian feel more comfortable seeing a counselor who shares their beliefs or who is at least prepared to discuss their faith openly and without judgment.
Coaching

Psychological coaching is a process that aims to help you achieve concrete goals, identify and overcome obstacles to well-being and performance, and build skills that may be interfering with your success. Coaching is specific, goal-oriented, and can be conducted one-on-one or in a group. Most coaching is short-term and consists of straightforward, supportive, solution-based counseling.
Play Therapy

Play therapy is typically targeted to children ages 3 to 11 who have social, emotional, or behavioral difficulties. Play therapy is real therapy conducted in the medium of play. Play therapy takes place in a comfortable playroom where few rules are imposed on a child, allowing the child free and spontaneous expression of feelings.
